MEMBERSHIP
Junior Representative of a house.
- The junior representative must be attending Vincent Massey Collegiate in secondary 1 or 2 during elections. (May)
- Must be maintaining a general average of 70% or greater.
- Must be passing all subjects
Senior Representative of a house
- The senior representative will be attending Vincent Massey Collegiate the following year and will be successfully entering secondary IV or V.
- Must be maintaining a general average of 70% or greater.
- Must be passing all subjects
** Representatives must maintain an overall average of 70% or greater in order to maintain leadership council membership. In addition, representatives must pass all subjects or they will be placed on a one-term probation, in which the student must successfully achieve a passing grade within the troubled discipline.
If the member does not successfully achieve a passing grade in the troubled discipline the member will be removed and replaced with the runner-up from the election he/she was elected from.
If there was no runner-up, a new election will take place within the troubled house. This re-election must not exceed a school week and must be supervised by the supervisors and remaining house elected member.
DUTIES
The House Representatives are responsible and must share all duties. They must perform their duties in a cooperative friendly manner that will promote the Houses overall success in all their duties. Their leadership qualities will reflect the schools pride in Vincent Massey Collegiate’s achievements and promote their activities and events accordingly.
1. The Junior and Senior House representative must attend all meetings held and called by the Leadership Council Moderator. The House Representatives have a serious obligation to be present at all Leadership Council Meetings.
2. The House Representatives will accept all and any duties delegated to them from the administration and/or Leadership Council Moderator.
3. Once a new house leader representative is chosen, the outgoing house leader representative (Junior and Senior) will preside and assist the new house leader representatives till the end of the year.
4. The Junior House Representative will attend any meeting the Senior House Representative is unable to attend.
5. (Funding) The House Representatives are responsible for
a. All funds connected to house activities
b. Reporting budgets to the Leadership Council Moderator and/or school administration.
c. For the income and expenses.
6. The Junior House Representative will record detailed information of each Leadership Council meeting for their respective houses.
7. The Junior and Senior House Representatives will attend at least one Governing Board meeting per year and may be called upon to attend an additional meeting.
