DRESS
Students are expected to attend school and all designated school functions in a manner in keeping with the dignity of the school and their role in the school. Cleanliness, good grooming, and the wearing of the school uniform are absolutely essential.
Students and parents are informed that VMC students must arrive at the school and depart from the school dressed according to the following daily uniform requirements:
-          All students must wear a white VMC monogrammed top
-          Girls must wear official blue slacks or skirt
-          Boys must wear official blue slacks

Students and parents are informed that the VMC students are not permitted to wear:

JEWELLERY
Parents and students should be aware that large, gaudy, or excessive jewellery is out of place with a school uniform and should not be worn. Multiple chains, bracelets, etc. are not permitted. Earrings are to be worn only on the ears and not on any other part of the face. Students may not wear chains hanging from the waist or pockets of their pants.

MAKE-UP
As with jewellery, make-up must not be excessive and should be in good taste as befits a secondary school student in uniform. Hair cannot be dyed a colour that is not normally accepted (i.e. it should not be pink, green, blue, purple, etc.) nor can it be worn in a style not befitting the uniform.

TIES
A school tie is available through Loft Des Enfants. All other ties are not permitted.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORMS
A uniform is compulsory for all students following Physical Education courses at Vincent Massey Collegiate. Shorts, joggers, and t-shirts are available through Loft Des Enfants, our official school uniform supplier. Running shoes in good condition with proper soles, appropriate arch formations and good heel cushioning must be worn in the gymnasium. Jogging shoes or other shoes, which may mark the gym floor, are not permitted.
Students who are not in the proper gym uniform for physical education classes will serve detention.

Students who are not properly dressed for school will be sent home to change (this includes examination sessions). They will be required to make up time lost in detention. The regulation uniform will be strictly enforced.
